Building and General Purpose Use
Calculated Custom Metal Works just finished this collaboration with Grand River Timber Frames on this massive horse boarding facility.
We used our PlasmaCam DHC2 to burn every piece of plate for this job. We wanted to share this because it proves that these machines
can be used for much more than just metal art.
Calculated Custom Metal Works burned over 64,000 lbs on this machine since Jan of this year with out replacing more than plasma
cutting consumables, all of which were .375 and .75 plate.
As we grow we will have more PlasmaCam products.
Farm Equipment Part Manufacturing
Danny, Farming & Agriculture: I use my machine for my farm every day.
Saves me a lot of time and money.
I don't know how I did it all before.
Thanks plasma cam
Harvest Equipment Manufacturing
Many of the parts on our Schieler 988 Tree Crop Harvester were cut with our PlasmaCam CNC Plasma Cutting System!
What a great product! We have always been very pleased with it's results!
Thanks for making such a great machine!
Auto Parts Manufacturing
PlasmaCAM is a well thought-out tool. The software is incredible; it's intuitive and easy to use. I can quickly go from a concept
to a finished part.
As a fabricator, I appreciate the clean design of the machine itself. I don't think there's a better bang for your buck.
I haven't seen anything we can't do with this machine. It's saved us so much time and effort, it's just incredible!
Hot Rod and Chassis Manufacturing
Currently we build over 60 different year make and model frames and chassis for Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Custom cars as
well as do complete turn key builds and I will just tell you that the Plasmacam is our lifeline.
Just about every part we make is cut on the machine even our frame rails. I don't know how we ever got anything done
without it. Our productivity went through the roof with the addition of the machine and took us to a different level of quality.
Actually thinking about adding a second machine soon.
Custom Bike Parts Manufacturing
Three time Biker Build-Off Champion and industry superstar Matt Hotch uses his PlasmaCAM CNC Plasma Cutting System
to fabricate one off brackets and custom chopper parts. When building high-end custom choppers to customer specifications,
some parts can't be simply purchased from a catalog.
When Matt needed the ability to fabricate these custom parts, he called PlasmaCAM to provide his shop with easy to use CNC
capability.

Aviation Parts Manufacturing
Through the support of clients and supporters we were able to set up a CNC Plasma/Router. There is no support in Ghana for such machining,
and yet we need it for specialist, repeatable parts in the airfield operations, and have 'made do' for a long time. As soon as the machine arrived,
it has caused a stir.
The installation/video manual is amazing and this kit is clearly
one of the easiest machines of this class that I have ever come across in nearly 30 years of machining. Customer care is outstanding.
Rock on people!
NB It took us less than 1 hour to grasp the dxf to machine solutions - and we look forward to using this as a training tool for many young women in West Africa.
Railroad Repair Machine
Hostetler Plasma Cutting designed and cut out this HST Cab for a Railroad Repair Machine cut with his PlasmaCam CNC Plasma Cutting System.
Curved Construction Problem
We recently constructed two industrial buildings that were designed with curved walls in the front. We tried to make the curved pieces the traditional way,
but we couldn't get the shapes right.
Then we got a PlasmaCAM machine and used the software to draw long, curved plates that exactly matched the radius in the prints. It was easy to set up
and run the system and cut the plates out. We used the plates for the walls, including the tops and bottoms of the windows.
The wall went together much more quickly than the other building. It was perfectly shaped and turned out much stronger. Without our PlasmaCAM machine,
we would probably not have been able to finish the job correctly.
Ventilation Brackets
Mounting two 24 feet diameter ventilators in a manufacturing plant, we had to design special brackets that allowed us to centre
the ventilators for optimal cooling in the ceiling.
This was a perfect project for our DHC10 and the brackets was designed and mounted in less than a day.
Gate Production
Whether you provide gates to commercial or residential customers, your customers will love your ability
to customize the gates to just what they want. If they want a specific motive, a branch influenced picture or a logo, you can
accomodate them with your PlasmaCAM CNC plasma cutting machines to a very competitive pricing.
HVAC Ducts & Fittings Manufacturing
With the PlasmaCAM machines, you can make high-quality, custom ducts and fittings for mechanical jobs. The optional software shown
automatically designs 3-dimensional custom HVAC parts based on your dimensions, materials and other preferences.
Parts Manufacturing
Manufacturing flanges that are used in oil field filter pumps, rebuilding and replacing over 40 of them for Oxy services, going thru alot of tips on our Miller 875.
We build these to retrofit and update worn out filters.
Without PlasmaCam could not bid on these type of jobs from our shop.
Furniture and Design Manufacturing
This machine has just caused an explosion in my creative capabilities.
My friends, clients, relatives are amazed at what I can do in a short period of time. Without my DHC10 I would be stressed to create things.
The DHC10 takes 20 minutes from design to finished product.
The greatest complement is its like having 5 other employees. Once you design a project it is just a click away from multiple arrays or recalls.
I build only unique pieces. I design and build what I want. I usually look for inspiration with shock and wow.
Fixture, Rail and Screen Manufacturing
I have mentioned you to many people. Besides my power hammer my PlasmaCAM is my most favorite and most used piece of equipment.
I have owned my machine since 2001. I make a lot of custom fireplace doors and free standing screens. I use the PlasmaCAM for cutting out
parts that are then forged or textured for the project. I also make custom chandeliers, sconces and other lighting projects where PlasmaCAM
really shines for cutting out many parts that are forged and textured and then assembled.
Custom Ceiling Manufacturing
The PlasmaCAM CNC Plasma Cutting Systems are perfect for making custom designed ceilings and the precision and speed of the PlasmaCAM
allows you to do so with really competitive prices.
Your PlasmaCAM CNC System will really set you apart from your competition and will allow you to make more intricate and complex metalwork and make it
personal for each of your customers.
Dry Dock Manufacturing
The US Coast Guard fabricated a 40 feet by 60 feet dry-dock cradle for District Eleven 87-foot patrol boats.
The PlasmaCAM was used to precisely cut usable parts from raw sheets of steel up to 5/8 inches thick, including reinforced openings
and hundreds of large gussets (triangular inserts), to provide structural stability for the cradle.
The forge was used to heat and form the large complex pieces used for the reinforced openings, which is similar to how blacksmiths of old formed the
outer portion of wagon wheels.
Computer Kiosk Manufacturing
My experience is with high power LASER's. At the company that I worked, I used to have a machine with a 4'x8' table, use it mostly for cutting sheet metal. It cost us $450,000 brand new
Now I have my own business. No way I could afford that kind of capital investment. So when I saw this machine, I knew that I could do with it, and it was less that 20K so I got one
I was right, the machine was paid for the first year.
I've had it probably 5-6 years now and have had no real issues. Now this machine is an essential part of my process, could not live without it.
Grills and Smokers
Hernandez Production's customized grills and smokers. Shown here are a smoker trailer for local trucking company for their cook-outs. It can cook a whole cow with
2 fajitas cookers, smoker, Santa Fe grill and 2 fold down tables.
To show their variety: also a fajita cooker and Table with condiments holder plus beer holder.
And Fijita cookers to give out to employees that pass their safety test as reward for job well done.
Without Plasmacam we would of never able been to get these types of orders.
Prototyping & Engineering
Because of the easy-to-use software and the fast path from ideas-to-cut-paths, PlasmaCAM CNC plasma cutting systems are perfect for one-off and prototype production.
It's especially being used in Sheet Metal Engineering Prototype Design, and Custom Fabrication.
Teaching Tomorrow's Metalwork Professionals
From a teaching standpoint, the PlasmaCAM machine provides a platform to reach students that wouldn't ordinarily be interested in shop class. "Welding is kind of a tough occupation,
it’s hard and hot. Kids don't want to come in here and weld the whole time. Any kid with basic typing skills is able to learn this machine, even the Special Education students. Most
students rarely take more than a class period to learn the basics. While welding is a great skill to have, proficiency with modern CNC tools truly prepares today’s shop students for
tomorrow’s jobs" says Bradbury.
Maybe that’s why he ordered a second one.
Hands-On Experience Designing and Building Projects for Local Non-Profit Organizations
Bradbury's students get hands-on experience designing and building projects for local non-profit organizations. "What better way to learn is there than [working] on an actual project
that is going to help somebody?" says Bradbury. Just outside of town resides a wolf preserve committed to saving that endangered species.
They asked to have the students design a table-center pieces that could be auctioned off as keepsakes at their fundraiser. Bradbury is also quick to point out that the school district makes
use of his shop and students when they need custom signage.
“The Fire Department mandated that the building exits in every facility needed to be numbered. The high school shop is the most capable metal shop in town due to its CNC plasma-cutting table.
These capabilities coupled with a small army of students made short work of this and other colossal tasks."
Signs & Fixtures
Dan from Metal Art, Fixtures & Signs does custom work and use PlasmaCAM for most of it. Every project is unique, so design time is critical.
The software makes it super easy to go from my ideas to quality-cut parts. With art, the final product is often different than the idea you start with.
The software gives you the freedom to experiment. It's easy to change things, like a font for a customer who has a different preference.
The machine works amazingly well too. Parts consistently come out just like your drawings - precise and smooth. It's great to bring into
the world ideas from your imagination, made of something as lasting as metal.
Metal Fabrication
My name is Martin and I just stumbled across the Owner's Community. Lot of good info in here. I have had my PlasmaCam since 2007
and would like to share some pictures of some items I have been doing with it.
I own a metal fabrication business so it does get a work out. I use it to do cut-outs for awards, gates, doors or what ever a customer
wants. Always pushing it to the limit of what I can do with it.
